Movie: "The Last Kiss"

I loved this film because it was honest and realistic, but at the same time, I don't want to like it because of how painful it was to watch. The acting was great but I thought Zach Braff and Tom Wilkinson were specially awesome!

The movie is about a group of confused almost 30 year olds trying to grow up and making some mistakes that may never be forgiven by their significant others.

*The sex scenes are extremely hot :-)!*

J. Schmidt did not pitch his best today, but still worked very hard out there on the mound. M. Alou's three-run homer at the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Giants the lead 5-2. But the bullpen was not able to shut it down and the Pirates took over in the eighth inning when Tim Worrell gave up a grand slam! Final score: 7-5 Pirates.

I miss Barry :-(

Didn't think I would like it, but I did. Thanks to Linda who told me it was really funny -- if it wasn't for her, P and I would not have seen it. Great movie to see if you want to laugh out loud...literally! Don't get me wrong though, I liked the movie a lot, but the idea behind the story has been done over and over before (Remake of 1967 film, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner). Actually, think of "Meet the Parents" and you'll have an idea of what this movie is all about!

The movie has a little bit of everything from drama to comedy. I believe that it's a must see movie because the storyline is unique and unexpected.

*Pretty nice lounge with leather couches, but no bar stools! The first DJ, 4am, was playing really great upbeat music including hip-hop, rock and funk. The second DJ, Aspect, in my opinion was horrible...he did not know to make a smooth transition between songs (so technically, he should not be called a DJ).

The following morning, Celatrick both woke up with a hangover! P went to work an hour late and C skipped her two classes. It was the worst hangover I have ever experienced because I had to get myself to get up at 11am and haul myself to my Research Psych Lab. It was a good thing that we only had lab for an hour.

This weekend, I got lucky and got both the GRAY and CHOCOLATE! Converse is so affordable and it usually goes with anything that you wear from jeans, to windbreakers and capris! I love Converse. As of today, I have the following...

1. Black (I should buy another one since I wear this all the time)
2. Blue (Not really into the color, but it's cool sometimes)
3. White (Have not worn it yet because I don't want to get it dirty)
4. Gray (Still New in Box)
5. Chocolate (Still New in Box)

The other colors I am not interested in purchasing. I might change my mind about the red ones though...I dunno, I guess I'll have to wait and see it first and then decide whether or not I want it or not!

"The Jacket"

Imagine being highly medicated with experimental drugs, strapped in a jacket-like device and being put in a body drawer located in a basement morgue. Sounds pretty freaky to me.

The movie was really good, not wonderful, but good. Adrian Brody was awesome -- he has so many expression (sad/droopy face, to mad with his eyebrows sticking up and a wicked smile.

Linda and I met up with Patrick after he got off work. Since Gordon Biersh was closed, we had dinner at the HiDive on Embarcadero. We each had a shot of Henn before dinner. For dessert, we went to Japantown and had some Sophie's Crepes. At 7.45p, we headed to AMC 1000 and saw, "Million Dollar Baby."

great story-line, the acting was wonderful and it is definitely a tearjerker

Had brunch with Patrick and played video games (Pikmin 2) for a couple of hours. Rented movies at Poppa Opps on Balboa Street and had dinner at Mel's Diner. Saw the 7.30p show of "Ocean's 12" @ AMC 1000.

a little slow, lots of twist, some funny parts, Brad Pitt is hot!

Slept in until 12-noon. Breakfast with Patrick (eggs, rice and summer sausage). Watched, "Big Bounce" on DVD and took an hour nap. Groceries at Albertson's and had linguine with tuna for dinner with a couple of beers.

3-year Anniversary!

It is our 3-year Anniversary today! It has been exactly three years since we made 'Celatrick" official. We celebrated by having dinner and wine at the Cliff House. Opened presents at Patrick's apartment. Ended the night with some "quality time" and cuddling.

I really like my silver heart necklace with diamonds in 'em. I think I will wear that everyday. Simple, but elegant, indeed.

FRIENDS from High School

One thing I always liked about watching "Sex and the City," was that Miranda, Carrie, Charlotte, and Samantha always had time to have breakfast once a week and catch up with each others lives. I've always been jealous about the fact that I don't have friends to have breakfast with every week or even have coffee with to talk once a month about men in our lives, school, work and random things.
Well, tonight, I finally had the chance to catch up with old friends from high school. Amy leaves for England tomorrow, so she decided to call Veronica and I to hang out for a bit. We met up at Starbuck's in Daly City and I have to say that it was one of the best 2 hours I have ever spent with them. We talked about everything and I did not want it to end, but it was getting late and the rain was getting worst so it did. We each went our own ways as I wonder when I will ever see them again. I am really hoping that we all can get to spend some time together again soon, sooner than a year down the road. What I think will be so cool is to visit Amy in England...Oh, I would really like that a lot. Maybe I should look into flight deals and figure out a date to go and visit her. I'll be nice to vacation and see a new place...

SEX and the CITY

I have found a new addiction other than love; I am addicted to SEX and the CITY. Yes, you heard it right, "Sex and the City" DVDs. I've had season 1&2 on my shelves for over a year and for Christmas this year, Patrick bought me season 3. I loved season 3 so much that I finished all 20 episodes in one day, yes 3 discs with 6 20-minute episodes each. I was so addicted into watching it that the following day, I bought season 4 on DVD at Target. Hey, it was on Target's Sunday Ad so I had to get, it was on sale. That night and this morning, I watched all season 3's 20 episodes and was still not satisfied with all the SEX, relationships, lovers, breakups, and men talk. So, today, Tuesday: 12/28, I bought season 5, also on sale at Target for $29.99. The disappointing thing about this is that, it only contains 2 discs, a total of 8 episodes. I was really upset to find out that I will be done with season five by tonight. I am sure that by the time I finish this blog, I will go back to bed, take disc 1 out of my DVD player and put on disc 2 of season 5. What do I do for tomorrow, buy season 6 - part 1 and 2 on DVD?
Last night, I realized why I was so addicted to watching, “Sex and the City.” Other than a lot of sex talk, I really like how the episodes are very realistic. I have meet many people who has dealt and are dealing with issues covered in several episodes. I am sure many women have experienced dating a Mr. Big and or an Aden. And have thought about their life’s path and where they are going to be when they are 35 years old – married, have children or worst, divorce and back in the dating market.
Like the article Patrick had read a while back, “Sex and the City,” is not all about SEX, but about four women who find time in their busy lives in Manhattan, to still hang out and have fun, gossip and share their moments with each other. I think this is what life is all about, to go with the flow, take risks and even though there may be heartbreaks and rough roads ahead, we still have to deal with it whether we like it or not. Life should be spent with people that make you feel good about yourself, that would be there through thick and thin and would listen and agree with you even though sometimes they may have their own opinions that you do not want to hear.

Christmas Shopping! (part 2)

If you have read my previous post about Christmas Shopping, you already know how I hate standing in line with mean and moody shoppers at the malls -- and that is the reason why I like to do most of my shopping online during the holidays. I thought I was free from shopping during Christmas Week, but I was wrong. Yesterday, my Mom asked me if I can help her shop in the morning of December 20 and December 21. Don't get me wrong, I love to shop, but not during the time when the malls are really really crowded and when there's mean shoppers out there. Oh well, I guess I can manage to survive to shop for over 65, yes S-I-X-T-Y-F-I-V-E, you heard right, sixty-five people on our list. OMG! I can't wait.

Oh my! It's that time of the year again where I get to spend my money on someone else. This year, I've decided that I'll do my shopping mostly online so that I don't have to worry about long lines and mean shoppers. Or let me re-phrase that: I like shopping online so that people do not have to deal with me, a mean-moody shopper! Ha ha ha...I'm just kidding, I'm not mean, just moody. Earlier this week, I went to see my psychotherapist, Dr. Ading, and she diagnosed me with having schizophrenia symptoms. Honestly though, I don't think I'm schizophrenic, but I may be bi-polar.

Back to shopping. So, if you too are sick of shopping at the malls, try these cool places at the web...
- Amazon (dvds, cds, books, etc..)
- Overstock (whatever you can think of at a bargain price)
- AllPosters (duh?!?! posters, offcourse and some cool funny shirts)
- Target (almost as cool as going to Target Greatland)

"No Yacking!" is what the little sign says made out of tissue paper posted up in the bathroom. What do you know, by 2am, the sign is disregarded and drunkards were yackin' left and right!

It was a cool party though, many people showed up -- members of Kapwaholics, friends and friends of friends. Party could have still gone on 'til six in the mornin', but egotistical cops shut it down at 5! Thanks, Linda, for hosting the party!

I have a midterm on Monday, 11/1/2004, and I'm freakin' out!

We were assigned (8) articles and I had just finished reading (5) of 'em last night. I still have (3) to go plus a lot of STUDYING!!! Yes, it's my fault, I should have read when the reading assignments were assigned, but it's too late to blame me now. What's done is done and now I am paying for it.

SO CONFUSING!
Isn't BRAIN and MIND the same thing? I mean, not exactly the same thing: don't we need both to think? Doesn't the brain help us use our minds to think? Is it true that the MIND does not know, but the BRAIN does? I DUNNO! Guess I need to do more STUDYING, huh?

T'was a difficult, stressful week for Atrick, what with the new job and all. And you know what that means. Ha-ha-ha. That's right, baby....

But seriously: Atrick started his new job, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. He had today, Wednesday, off, and it was quite the relief from the overwhelming nature of begining a new venture. There's something about the "working world" that seems impersonal so far; perhaps the formality of attire leads to a sense of conformity, and thus diminishes the creative mindset that those in the design business find so crucial to begin with.

"The Grudge"

John Kerry now has a three-point advantage in a recent national poll!

Today, Celatrick watched "The Grudge" with Ading. The females were scared: Cel stabbed her little fingers into Atrick, and Pukang just sort of covered her face for much of the time.

Atrick says: "The Grudge" was similar to the recent "Eye," and other Japanese imports. Joltingly scary in parts, overall the movie lacked much depth beyond its thin plot. Michelle Geller was at times likable, but often reverted into soap opera-ish artificiality. Bill Pullman was great during the ten or fifteen minutes he appeared on screen. But the best performers were the two Japanese detectives, whose names I do not remember. Their fresh faces were a welcome counterbalance to the staleness of the all-caucasian American portion of the cast.

Atrick also enjoyed a plump and juicy Century Dog.
